Mobo Died

My current pc setup can be found in my signature. My mobo died, I get the notable FF and no POST anymore. Is it worth buying another x58 at this time? How big are the gains if I bought a new cpu, mobo, ram?, gfx card? Max I'd like to invest going the expensive route is 800-1000.

I play in your face fps so that's its main function. My monitor is 60Hz but I'll put that aside for now. Ideas?

Well the gains can be huge. It just depends on what you WANT to buy, whether its just a motherboard or you want to upgrade the whole shibang.

Still a good CPU but an IB CPU like the 3570k is a good 25% or so faster depending on the game in question. You can even reuse your RAM if you like.

I would actually say to wait for Haswell and drop your money on and skip a gen but since you're dead in the water that might not be an option.

If you want to upgrade your GPU I suggest something in the higher area like the 680.
