Mobo + CPU Voltage?

Hey, I'm new to building computers...... someone mentioned something to me about when you put in the CPU in the mobo, you need to set the voltage on the mobo.


Can anyone explain to me what they're talking about ?

apparently something other than computers. when you install a processor the bios has a default voltage set. the only time you change it is if you are ocing the pc .

yeah, someone must've been talking about custom portable blenders or something. The CPU and motherboard are compatible, and ready to go. You shouldn't even have to go to the bios. Myabe once or twice to designate boot order when installing the operating system, but just to get it started, you don't have to adjust anything.

they might also be reffering to "burining in" which is a waste of time but now isnt the place to discuss that
