My computer just died out, and I assume it's the motherboard. I did the beep thing and got no beeps, so I assume the motherboard fried out.

But then I was tinkering with my cpu and noticed that the heatsink was clogged with dust, and the cool air from the fan couldn't reach the cpu.

SO could the CPU have fried out instead?

Thanks for your time.

No, you said the CPU is clogged with dust...I don't think that has anything to do with it being fried. It's probably the mobo.

Have you reset the cmos? And when you said the beep code thing do you mean you removed everything from the board (ide cables, pci cards, video cards, ram etc etc) And there still was no beep?

Yeah, I took everything out, reset the cmos, but I get no response.

But it couldn't be a fried cpu? (cpu currently cheaper than new mobo -_- )
