Hola.

I'm having difficulties getting my pc to recognize the new memory I've added. It started out with one PC2100 512MB stick. I wanted to upgrade to 2GB (my system manual says it's upgradable to this), so to start out, I bought a stick of 1GB PC2100 DDR. There are two DIMM slots. The 512MB stick is recognized in the BIOS and in Windows XP when in slot 1. The 1GB is also recognized and working in slot 1. However, slot 2 will not recognize either stick. The weird thing is that, when I run AIDA32 system info utility, the SPD info shows both sticks present. However, physical memory is still only the 1GB stick. So the second slot is being recognized, but the memory there is not being used. I have also tried two 512MB sticks, with the same result -- both are seen, but only slot 1 is used. Help?

Thanks,
Amber

do u have SP2? not sure if its relevant or not, but a lot of people have had hardware problems where getting SP2 was the solution.

It is none of those -- it is SiS650GL + SiS961. The DIMMs are most similar to the M925G (V8.0), which also has two SDRAM and two DDRAM slots.
