What is the make and model of your computer?

I need the info to find out what will fit.

This is looking at the desktop/mini-tower configuration.

Socket 478, 400 MHZ & 533MHz

DDR 266 (PC2100) RAM, max of 512MB per stick, max of 1 gig

AGP, x2-x4

For RAM, go with two sticks of this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820141173
$77.56, including shipping.

For CPU, go with the Pentium 4 2.8A Prescott 533MHz FSB 1MB L2 Cache Socket 478 Processor:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819116180
$188.99, including shipping.

This will basically max out your system's possiblities.

You may want to look for an AGP x4 video card. That would help your computer's performance in games.

Yes.

The RAM I pinked to is a stick of 512. Get two, pull out what is in there, and pop in both of the new. It will give you a gig of RAM.

The CPU I listed will be almost twice as fast as the one you have, maybe more since it has the whole on-board cache intact.
