Default Media center newbie

I have been thinking about building some sort of budget media center. I'm not sure where to start. I know I would like a blu-ray player. We have direct Tv DVR and XBOX 360. My wife likes storing pictures and I'm into movies and sci-fi shows. Thanks for the help.

Maybe it's just me but I would never buy crucial RAM.

Yep and if you want 2gb go for 2x1gb. - G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ - Desktop Memory
cas5 ddr2 800 for $6 more with free shipping. No brainer.

Board and cpu are nice choices for an htpc.

Case depends upon if you want a stylish one or a cheap one. I use an Antec 300 for mine. Cheap and good.
Take a look here for the real htpc cases. - Computer Hardware,Computer Cases,HTPC / Media Center Cases,No
