MB Asus P5K with CD/DVD Drive

Hi, I need some helping installing CD/DVD Drive with Asus P5K Mother Board. I cannot seem to find any internal I/O Connectors for CD/DVD Drive but only floppy and hard drive. Thank you.

I was wondering. Do I use the same line as the hard drive and make my CD/DVD Drive the master and my hard drive as slave?

I have this same board and apparently it only has 1 ide connection. This turns out to be ok for me because luckily i opted for the sata dvd/rw instead of ide.

It should be possible to run your hdd as master and dvd/cd rom as the slave on the cable though.

The hard drive should be the master and the optical drive should be on slave.

you should have sata hdds though............ so you will only be running the optical drive through the ide cable so I don't see the problem unless your using an older hdd in the build
