Default Looking to upgrade Video Card.

Hey guys!

I currently have an XPS 410... specs:
- Vista Home Premium (32 Bit)
- 2Gig RAM
- Intel Core 2 Duo 6300 1.86GHz

Current Video Card - NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE
- PCI Express (64-Bit)

I was hoping to find a new card... somewhere around $100-200. (+ or - a few dollars)

Any help you guys can give would be great! Thanks

are you going to be gaming?

if so, I'd recommend this.

9600GT at that price?

go for 8800GT:
Newegg.com - Open Box: ASUS EN8800GT/G/HTDP/512M GeForce 8800GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card

better yet cheaper.

To answer mikee, yes, this will be used for gaming.

Mostly World of Warcraft, some COD4... maybe other games I may buy.

For the 2 already suggested, what makes one better than the other?

I thought the 9600gt had roughly the same performance as the 8800gt but was a bit cheaper. atleast thats what people are saying

also both cards will run those games pretty well

The 9600 has a slightly faster speed for the core clock however lacks the stream processes the 8800 has. So ups and downs go both ways... if you are fretting about price between the two then I'd go for the 8800.

Thumbs up Re: Looking to upgrade Video Card.

You will most likely need a power supply upgrade to use either of those cards. This psu should be able to handle them without a problem.

Newegg.com - FSP Group SAGA+ 400R ATX12V 400W Power Supply 120/220 - 240v NEMKO, TUV, CSA, IEC, UL, CE - Power Supplies

The 8800gt 512mb is about 15% faster than the 9600gt. The 8800gt has double the stream processors of the 9600gt which is why it is faster.
