So I am looking to upgrade my processor to the AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz Socket AM3+ but I am not sure if my motherboard is compatible with it. I cant find any information on this motherboard and was wondering if anyone could find out if I will need a new board or not, thanks.
Also if I do require a new board some recommendations would be nice :).

Info on my motherboard: Manufacturer Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
Model - GA-880GM-USB3 (Socket M2)
Chipset Vendor - AMD
Chipset Model - 880G
Chipset Revision - 00
Southbridge Vendor AMD
Southbridge Model - SB700

According to GB no that board doesn't support it.

What do you use your PC for? If you're a gamer, I suggest getting an i5 anyways since you need a new board.

Well I was looking to buy a Gigabyte 970A-DS3P motherboard for £50 but undecided. What is so great about i5's anyway and would it be better than the processor I listed?

Faster single threaded performance over AMD which gives better performance in games. If it wasn't faster I wouldn't have said anything.

You can get a board for it cheaper that has PCI-E 3, USB3, SATA3, and all that jazz.
