WOW!!!! OLD PC. You could get a desktop for approx $300 or so that would blow that thing out of the water. Just look at your local best buy type store in your area. Building your own at that price and with the components you need probably won't happen. Again nothing is impossible but it might take some serious deal hunting and of course reusing the monitor, keyboard, and mouse you already have

Honestly, this will be plenty for that:
Walmart.com: eMachines ET1331G-07w Desktop PC with AMD Athlon II X2 Dual-Core Processor and Windows 7 Home Premium: Computers
$398.00

Considering Windows 7 would set you back $100 just by itself this becomes a great deal. Dual core, 4GB RAM, 640GB hard drive, Win7 Home Premium 64-bit. The 6150 graphics are actually decent; my mother-in-law's computer has them and she plays a lot of casual games.

Just saw this in my daily ResellerRatings deal email.

Newegg.com - eMachines EL1352-03 Athlon II X2 240(2.8GHz) 4GB DDR3 500GB NVIDIA GeForce 6150 SE Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
$349.88 w/free shipping

It's a slimline and I don't see anything about it having a PCI-E slot, so it may not be graphically upgradeable. That shouldn't be a problem in this situation, though.
