Looking for help with a graphics upgrade...

Hi, Im currently trying to upgrade my PC with better graphics to make gaming smoother and increase fps. Obviously a new card and probably power supply would be in order. My budget for both would be $300. Here are the specs of my (not so great) computer, any suggestions and recommendations would be helpful.


Processor - AMD Phenom X4 9550 Quad-Core / 2.2 Ghz
Memory - 6GB
Hard Drive - 640GB
Windows Vista 64 bit, SP1

Current Chipset - GeForce 9100
Power Supply - 300w



It's basically a HP computer model (HP A6720y). Again, just looking for a graphics upgrade. Any info would be appreciated, thanks a bunch.

You will need to get a new PSU.

if you dont mind going slighyly over budget due to shipping costs, this would be a huge upgrade. this is a really good deal and i dont know how long its going to last, but a problem that i see is that your hp case might be a little cramped for it so idk if it will fit. this card is around 9.5'' long.

Thanks for the suggestions. The combo looks really tempting, but like you mentioned I'm worried that it wouldn't all fit in the case.

The 5770 is a shorter card.

This one looks to be an inch or more shorter than the 4890, but will exhaust the hot air outside of the case. Same price as the other model, too.
