im actually taking a class right now at my school. It's IT essentials and my teacher built the course around A+ certification and used some material from cisco systems.
We've covered the basiscs. How hard drives/ disk drives work. How CPU's work, FSB mulipliers etc. tyepes of memory like dimm and simm and so on, IDE, EIDE,SCSI,SATA,SATAII, power supplys, file systems, formatting HD's, and pretty much all hardware related stuff.
And as far as OS's go weve learned DOS, basic DOS commands, the differences between it and command prompt, and have worked with mostly windows 9x.
but we havent really done so much on networking.
