yeah i bought the retail one at staples...

I went to newegg and saw the $80 some dollars windows xp sp2 but bad reviews where there...

Somebody said you had to update windows about 50 times and somebody said that there were alot of glitches so i bought the more expensive one...

But, they are the same exact thing. Same exact operating system. One difference is one comes in a box, and one comes shrinkwrapped to a piece of cardboard. The main difference though is that the Retail version is meant to be sold to the final user, the OEM is made to be sold to Computer manufacturers, so if you ever have a problem with the operating system you get free support from microsoft with the retail version, but they will tell you to contact the computer manufacturer with the OEM version. The main point I'm trying to make is, the $80 OEM and the $200 retail are exactly the same. The reviews mean nothing, as people will always have problems with Windows.
