Laptop Hard drive

I need to get a new HD for my old lappy. It's a Dell Latitude C810. Will any Notebook HD work in this thing? I have never taken apart a laptop and don't want to buy something that won't work in it. I have looked at several sites and they are all about the same on price, but none say it will or will not be compatible. I know I sound like a noob with this question, but like most folks on here $$$$$ are not exactly in huge supply.

well the Harddrive is one of the easiest pieces of equipment to replace. on the bottom of your laptop there should be some form of finger grooves around the edge with a single or two screws holding it down. The centre is generally the ram compartment and there are generally to quick release latches without screws for optical drive and battery

I should be ATA. So any ATA drive will work. SATA drives will not.
