Default Laptop

friend is looking for a laptop for college. nothing super, just something that will do. no gaming will be done on the laptop, so integrated graphics is ok. he said he would like a dual layered cd/dvd burner and a wireless network card on the laptop. hes trying to keep the price below 750, closer to 500 the better. laptop does have to a operating system on it. any suggestions?

He should've bought one a week ago, when Vista wasn't released. Now he's gonna have a 512MB laptop with integrated graphics running Vista .

Not quite sure, but I think this is dual-layer, and it's the only laptop in the price range that has a DVD burner anyways.
