Default lap top purchase

I intend to get a laptop for christmas and i've been leaning towards this one. Mainly because i've had nothing but good luck with ASUS products
Newegg.com - ASUS F3 Series F3KA-X2 NoteBook AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-58(1.90GHz) 15.4" Wide XGA 1GB DDR2 667 120GB 5400rpm DVD Super Multi ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 - Retail

im on a pretty strict budget..prefer <$900 U.S. .. .
Would grab another gig of ram with this as well for like 30 bucks..

SO.
i obviously dont expect to play Bioshock on max settings, but do you guys think this PC will handle games such as BF2142 and HL-2 ?

PS
if you know of another laptop similarly priced that would outperform this, let me know

I would try to get a C2D if possible. They are far superior to the X2s. Yes, that system could easily play HL2, but you would need another gig of RAM to play BF2 comfortably, as it is a notorious system hog.

This should have been posted in the 'Everything Laptops' section.

yeah, id definately prefer the C2D but i cant seem to find one in my budget..and an additional gig of ram is only 20 bucks so that wont be an issue.
