No I'm just trying to explain to him how it is before he goes asking questions that will start a riot. We have had several flame wars develop on TF in the past from newer members asking a question like ATI v Nvidia or AMD v Intel. I'm trying to stop that before it happens.

Core 2 is faster but he wouldn't be able to get a system with one with his budget so doesn't matter.
