Default interface question

what kind of harddrive should i buy, SATA or IDE? people say SATA is better but i dont know why. thx

SATA is not that much faster than IDE. But the reason more people recommend it, is because it's just the newer interface. Also the SATA cables are much smaller than the IDE cables. So it cuts down on the clutter of wires in your computer, and allows better airflow, throughout the case.

Look at it this way.... Your motherboard will most likely have IDE sockets on it, but does it have SATA ports? If it doesn't you will have to spend MORE to also get a PCI SATA controller.
