Well I'm going to be buying a new Pc and was wondering which of these processors is better for gaming? I'm kinda confused though. The Intel® Pentium® D Processor 930 w/ Dual Core Technology 3.0GHz 800MHz FSB is cheaper then the Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E6300 1.86GHz 2MB Cache 1066MHz FSB yet the core 2 duo has a way lower cpu speed.

Can someone tell why this is. Most games now a days require a pretty high cpu speed, around 2.4ghz and 2.6ghz est. So why is this core 2 duo so good if its cpu speed is so low? With a cpu speed that low it looks it couldn't run any new generation games. Can someone tell me about this processor?

core 2 duo

so its duo core 2 all the way? But what I dont get is how with its low cpu speed at 1.8ghz that it can kick the pentium D's *** at 3.0ghz. Is the 1.8ghz actualy really fast?

The AMD 64s kicked the P4s around the block with a lower clock speed.

Well, now C2D is doing the same thing to the AMD 64s.

P4 < AMD 64 < C2D
