Hey Folks, building a pc for a family member and wanted input on this build. It's for general home use, web, video, photos etc. Not sure if it's overkill. I guess they never really have a PC that rocks so I wanted it to be good and last. I have a version too that replaces the i5 with a quad core 8400, ended up being about 50.00 less. Also need a recommendation on a wireless card. This will be my second time building! Thanks for any advice regarding the build or any potential savings.

^ youve listed the power supply there twice.

what is your budget for the build? are you looking at just the tower or does the budget also include a mouse, keyboard, monitor, etc.?

you also need an OS?

how general use are you talking about here? even though for the price you could find something better, the gts 250 is a mid-range gaming card and i dont know what you mean by general., so thats why i ask for some clarification. (gaming? or general web surfing, viewing photos/vids/docs?; you could potentially save more money)

Whoops, where I listed the power supply twice should have been Windows 7 Home 64 Bit. Don't need a monitor, keyboard, or mouse. If it's used for gaming at all it wouldn't be anything to graphically intensive, say along the lines of WoW. I'd say mostly web surfing viewing photos/video/docs, down the road some photo/video editing. Honestly I didn't really have a strict budget I was working with was looking to keep it under 1,000.00.
