Default IE7 beta 2

XPpro/SP2. Installed IE7 beta 2. Everything seems OK with one exception and cannot solve it.

I use Java 1.5 to look at various websites and in IE6 there never was a problem. However, for a reason I cannot fathom, the normal Java icon no longer appears when a source such as Heatmaps require it

I have deleted and re-installed Java to no effect.
