Question IDE vs. EIDE

I am looking to buy a DVD ROM drive. Yes just a cheap DVD. I seen one that I liked and it said it was an EIDE drive. I have an IDE. Will the EIDE drive work with my IDE. Is EIDE just a new technology or does it have different cables?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

IDE = ATA = EIDE = PATA. These are all compatible with one another unless there's some obscure thing I haven't heard of.
