Default IDE/PATA and FDD connector question

ok the new motherboard i'm getting has one IDE/PATA connector and one FDD connector. I know i'll hook my DVD/RW drive to the IDE/PATA and my hdd through sata of course but what is the FDD connector for? I looked at my motherboard and my guess is floppy disk drive, is that all the FDD connector is used for if even?
