Default i want to buy a new pc, help me

AMD 3000+ Venice
TWINMOS DDR400 1024MB Dual Channel Kit (2x512MB) Ram
NEC ND4550A Super Multi DVD Writer
120 GB Samsung SATA

are these parts good? what must i do to make them better?
and i need help for
video card, LCD monitor,350watt chasis,motherboard,speaker,mouse and keyboard
i have got 1000$ for all parts
please help me...

for a $1000 you can get some good parts. Will you be using this comp for gaming?

i don't play game very much.
and i won't overclock cpu, ram , video card
comp will be used in surfing internet,watching films and microsoft office works

Wow $1000 just for surfing the internet. Get a Sempron 64 and cut the total price to under $600 with your lcd monitor and OS and keyboard, mouse, speaker.

Get this LCD:

Rosewill Value case w/ 350 watt PSU.

Yeah he is useing AMD, but what he meant was that you could an intel rig instead. AMD's are good for gaming, but he isn't gaming anyways. He is reccomending intel systems since a p4 cost like $120 and the cheapest new AMD athlon 64 cpu costs $170.
