You can change the Case to something else if you don't like it and i left the Keyboard/Mouse/Headphones out for personal choice and the fact i don't know any good Keyboard/Mouse/Headphone brands.

Not needed unless you play heavy cpu games like total war or use multiple applications i.e. more then itunes/ browser and a game open at the same time

Yeh it should be fine. The dual core will offer more performance for games clock for clock (e8500 is better than say a q6600 @ 3.16). If you think you use a lot of heavy stuff and multiple programs (not just that you have music running in the background) then i would go quad, you'll only see a slight decrease, but the quads will cost you more if you want a higher clocked one, otherwise you can get an aftermarket Heatsink and overclock a q6600.

The best quad imo would be the Q9550.

As for headphones, keyboard, mouse, why not look at your own? They are kinda personal choice. Look at the G5 mouse and a G15 keyboard?

These headphones seem to have positive reviews: Newegg.com - eDimensional Audio FX 3.5mm/ USB Circumaural Force Feedback Gaming Headset

If you want headphones for music aswell, these seem to be better: Newegg.com - TekNmotion TM-PSX100A 3.5mm/ USB Circumaural Pulsewave / Pulsar SX PC Gaming Headphone
