I want to build a $800 - $900 computer using this case, the eMachines T2824 starting from scratch. The Link is the picture of the cases in different pics if you click photo gallery.

The computer will be used for college pruposes. I would like it ready for windows vista. I will not be using it for gaming, that is what the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 are made for. Just the regluar Microsft word programs and internet and storing muisc. Also will be using it for my computer science major.

P.S. is it wise to go to a computer place to have them build my computer. The guy I talked to said it would cost starting at $650. Are they going to rip me off?

for what you need, you can spend alot less then 800, more like 400-500 if you dont need monitor, keyboard, etc.. if your going to build a system spend 30-50 bucks and buy a different case.

the place isnt going to rip you off really, everyone is trying to make there buck, so you are going to be paying for there time with building a machine. so you would get less for your buck, but if your not sure of building and basic trouble shooting then its the way to go.

They motherboard you mentioned siad it was a graded K, it there a better motherboard, plus, is there a more room for more momery, I'm look at 2GB. they say, you can't run Windows Vista well, without 2GB.

vista min is 512 and recommended is 1 gig of memory, 1 gig is fine for doing microsoft word. and that motherboard is pretty good, what are you talking about graded k? its the KN9 series. thats a pretty good set up, im at work so i dont have time to go searching newegg, but nukems is a good suggestion.
