Default I realise this is a long shot, but... upgrading the processor on a netbook.

Hi,

I'm planning on getting a refurbished acer aspire one netbook. I realise there are more powerful computers, but i need something small that i can throw around without as much fear of damage theft etc.

The processor it comes with is an intel atom, and i was just wondering if this is something that can be upgraded or if its even possible to upgrade anything on such a small laptop.

thanks.

^ what he said
You can upgrade the RAM and hard drive (depending on what type of netbook) and that's about it

A lot of Atom CPU's come soldered onto the board unfortunately.

Even if you could ugprade it, it would be ridiculously expensive to do so because mobile CPU's are way more expensive than a desktop counterpart. Would be cheaper to buy a whole new system.
