erm with that processor youve got a real bottleneck i think. Maybe a 6600 or 7600gt. not sure how your cpu will affect it

If you have the money, I would say go for the 8800GTS [320mb]. Due to some research, many have said that the 640mb isn't worth getting.

Agreed...it would be a pretty big bottleneck, between the 8800 and the Celeron. A 6 series or 7 series will do, like OatesyX said.

How much are you paying for it? I think I can find a better combo, for the price.

Ya there basicly selling you an old 775 mobot with a pretty low spec pentium 4 and branding it as if its new.. Like for example agp is the older interface now and it uses ddr ram when the standard is ddr2 now.. Also that board doesnt support core 2 duos.. bad deal to be honest

Default Re: I need to upgrade my video card

Yeah they want about 186.00 for it. i was thinking about just trying to find a p4 3.06 cpu and buy a new video card. But apparently my MB only has a 533 fsb and Those type of P4 CPUs are very hard to come by. Then I figured why not just get a MB with a 800 mhz FSB? And of course I was thinking about getting a board with PCI Express anyway. Then I started looking for different combos. I basically want to get a decent board, not the highest end but better than average, a strong CPU that can handle any game out there, and a video card that can handle any thing out there. Not looking to turn every effect on my system is pretty basic and I just need enough power handle anything I look to buy in the future. My system as it stands can run Doom 64 and Farcry no problem, but it can't run Hitman: Blood Money.......go figure. I'm looking to spend from 250 to 300.
