Default I need some advise on RAM

hi. I am new here. I need an advise. I want to buy a 512 MB RAM for my PC. I already have two 128 RAM. And i am thinking of installing all of them making total RAM of 786. Is this a good idea. Because i dont know how will it effect my performace if i have two 128 and one 512 MB (Like two small memory RAM and one high memory RAM). Please guide me.

Default Re: I need some advise on RAM

run cpuz to tell us what motherboard and current ram speed you are running.
If you have a prebuilt like a Dell or HP give us the model ie Dimension 2100.

More ram will help but we need to find out the max your board can handle and the current speed you are running. Memory will only run as fast as your slowest installed chip.
