I need help

Hi, I have a computer that I bought new in 2005 from wallmart.
Its a Hp pavilion a705w, intel celleron cpu, 256meg ddr ram.
It is real slow, and I want to put more memory in it but what kind
and how much is my question. I visited crucial, and they said it
can take up to 2 gigs, but some places say only 1gig. I also dont
know if I should put ddr3200 memory, or ddr2700 in it, or does it really
matter. Any help you guys could give me would be great, thanks.

The maximum supported is 2 512MB PC2700 sticks as indicated by their website.

Honestly with a computer of those standards I would save the money and invest in a new one.

I agree, but the RAM kit is only 30 bucks. Sure, that's the price of like 8GB of DDR3, but the rest to go with it is quite expensive.
