Can my dell's psu be replaced? Here is its internals: http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim5150/sm/techov0.htm#wp1058472

It is a dimension e150 machine.

I just need to know exactly what all is involved. I do not have much hooked up to it as of now. I only have one dvd drive. What other power cords am i not accounting for? What are the procedures exactly? So far i have:

1)Disconnect power cord from motherboard.

2)disconnect power cord from disk drive.

3)Disconnect power cord from hard drive.

4)Unscrew power supply

5)take it out

6) install new one

Ya that's about it to installing a PSU, maybe there's also 4 pin connector that goes to your mobo.

I found what you are looking for:) but it is only 26amps at +12v, I guess you want at least 30amps at +12v.

I found the info thanks to these guys http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=dim_video&message.id=131645 I would ask them if there is a different psu with more amps at +12v that would work in your Dell.

I hope this helps:D
