as a general rule of thumb, is humidity bad for computers? i want to know if its OK if i use my comp in my basement for the summer cuz its a lot cooler but also alot more like damp and dank, so to speak.

Humidity is bad for computers in general. I wonder if a dehumidifier will work, in those conditions.

Humidity is only bad if your computer is cooler than the surrounding air, which probably isn't the case while it is on.

Dryness is actually more of a problem due to static discharge, so at least you don't have that to worry about.
