You should go with the new Intel Sandy Bridge cpu, the i5-2500 or i5-2500k(unlock). IMO it's better just to go for the "k" version for a few more bucks.

Only if the OP is overclocking- an unlocked multiplier isn't much use to the average user/gamer.

If you want optimal cooling, grab five 129mm fans to populate the availble fans slots in your case (it only comes with one front fan). If you want lights and/or a color theme, get LED fans and move the fan that comes with it to the rear.

Other than that you look to be good to go.

Those 129mm fans are pretty hard to find nowadays, maybe he should go for the 120mm fans instead

I only do non-LED fans and like these.

Just be sure to compare the CFM (how much air they move) and the loudness/decibels (so you don't end up with jet engines). Slay may have better suggestions.
