my sister got that same pc you linked to at best buy 3 months ago for $579, except it's a 17" monitor, only difference.

HP does use proprietary psu's, not the easiest to upgrade in that respect.
And Talldude, please stop praising your Acer. It's a crappy brand and I don't think you got the great deal you seem to think you did...

You can get an HP Pavilion athlon x2 4200+ with 2GB for $600 on Amazon. It doesn't come with a screen though, and there is still the need for a gfx card and power supply limitations.
