Default Home Server Build

Hey guys,

I am looking to build a PC that would act as an SQL server for a DB I'm making for a friend.
I would be looking to spend around 200-300$ and I just need something that will run smoothly.
I already have Server 2008 and the SQL server so no need to factor that in, and I also have KVM.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

I would get a motherboard and CPU combo. I have one for my home file server, an Athlon x2 5200+ and Biostar board.

Look around.

Still good though MoM, thanks a lot kmote, I like it, I might just wait for more money in order to get something like that.
