So I'm workin on a my new rig.

I've got a pretty good list going but caught a little snag on RAM.

Here's the list so far:

AMD X2- 3800
LP UT nF4 Ultra-D
eVGA 7800GT
Probably a Raptor once the price drops

So pretty high performance stuff, I plan to overclock stuff, not toooo much. I want to try to hold it to only fan cooled.

Lookin to get 2GB of RAM. Went to DFI street, had my eye on these babies:

OCZ EL DDR PC-4000 1024MB Gold Edition Dual Channel (2GB

Main questions:
1. Would it only make sense to get 2GB by two single gig sticks, or would 4 512's be an option?

2. They are set for timings of 3-4-4-8. Is that sub-par for the system I'm looking for the run new gamings fairly flawlessly? Would I be able to clock them up a little bit?

Any comments, suggestions, different brand reccomendations

All info is good

i think 2 1gbs, cheaper if you HAVE to upgrade & probably cheaper overall. the 4x 512s would have higher bandwidth in theory when in dual channel but if you ever need more than 2GB (heaven forbid) the 2x 1GB for shure

get the 2GB sense you wont be able to upgrade when you have 4*512 and the 4 sticks will take up more voltage and give off more heat

those timings are usual for a 2GB set rated at DDR500
