All right guys im new here so be nice

Im using it for mainly Music(IPOD), watching dvds, and photshop. It already seems fine and pretty quick at doing all this stuff.
I have already added another 512 PC3200 DDR RAM so im at 1GB. I think it was an awesome deal for the price and am very happy with it. These are my plans.....(all prices are averaged, probably can be found for cheaper but that is not what im asking here, all taken from Tiger Direct)
XFX Geforce 6600GT 256MB PCI-E graphics card $145
Sabrent 6port usb 2.0/ Firewire(4 usb 2.0/ 2 firewire pci card) $20
Buffalo Select 1024MB PC3200 DDR (2 = 2GB) $80 each
Acer AL1951 19" LCD w/ DVI + VGA( want 2) $250 each
I think these are pretty good as an upgrade for what i have. I will also be installing another DVD/CD burner today.
I do plan on building another pc just because i feel like it. And when i do that ill probably revert back to mostly stock on this one and use it as my 2nd comp.
What do you guys think of this upgrade setup as i mostly use photoshop but might start doing video editing once i get the firewire installed and get a video camera. Im not looking at running oblivion at lightining fast speeds and dont really ever plan on using it for games...maybe age of empires II. I used to have a powerbook g4 but sold it loooooong ago. I did love it just didnt use it as much.
Also can someone explain what the pci-e x16 slot is used for? Thanks everyone in advanced. I might go the amd athalon 64 route when i build the new comp in a few months. Just need to get some money.
