Hi, it's the first time I'm going to upgrade my computer and I need some advice my specs are:

Inter Core 2 Quad Q6600 @2.40 GHz

3 Gb DDR2

4CoreDual-SATA2

NVIDIA GeFroce 8600 GT 256 Mb DDR3

Jou Jye Electronic co. Ltd
ATXI 2V 2.2
Compatible
Low Noise V1

I was thinking of buying LC Power supply 600W and for the graphic card a PowerColor HD4850 512MB GDDR3, but I have some doubts about graphic because I saw in here that for my motherboard was other ATI model, I have to get that model or any model from the ati 4850 is ok? I'm going to buy eventuality a new motherboard but for now I really need some help picking this up.

Take a look at our PSU guide here before choosing so you don't select a dud.

I already read that but what is a dud? So the LC Power supply 600W is a good choice right? since is for gaming and in there says that is around that.

PCI-E is PCI-E. The motherboard doesn't matter as long as the slots match up and you have enough power.

[EDIT] It seems the PCI-E slot is capped at x4 on your motherboard. I have no earthly idea why they would make a board like that... it boggles the mind. According to the BIOS versions posted for the board, you could run up to a 4890 (with the latest BIOS)... but I do not see the 4850 listed at all. 4890, 4830, 4670, 4650, 4550, 4350, 3870 X2, 3870, 3850, 3650, 3450, as well as the 2xxx series... but no 4850 or 4770. [/EDIT]

In the PSU guide:

Brands to Avoid: There are a lot of poor quality power supplies out there, but it is impossible to list all the models and brands that you should not purchase, it is however safe to assume that if the model is neither listed in the lists above or the list below you should not purchase it, or you can ask on the forum

Achieve
Aerocool (ExceptSilver Line 550 Watt)
Allied
Apex
Arrow
Aspire
Austin
Apevia
Codegen
Demon
Deer
Duro
Dynapower
Eagle
EagleTech
EPower (Except Xscale 1200W)
Foxlink
Hercules
JustPC
JEANTECH
Key Mouse
Kingwin (Except ABT-1220MA1S)
L&C

That was what kmote was talking about.

So for the PSU then a Corsair CX400W is good choice?

the ati hd4850 is there is the list under the windows XP, I did copy past:

ATI Radeon HD4850 GECUBE HD4850/512M/GDDR3 P2.10 Catalyst 8.12

My question is if a can buy other model like powercolor or asus of the ATI HD4850 and if the Corsair has to be other model or if that is ok.

All corsair PSUs are good, so no worries there.

Both Asus and Pc make decent cards. Asus offers a 3 year warranty (I think), while PC has a 2 year.

I don't see any reason why a 4850 from a different company wouldn't work if the 4850 is on the list, then.
