I'm in a slight predicament. My computer I'm putting together isn't, well, coming together all that well. The computer turns on but it refuses to recognize the monitor or the hard drive, despite the fact that both are hooked in. For the monitor we have switched out the video graphics card (powercolor HD 2400, PCI) with several of its kind (we've tried 2 other PCI cards in the slot;;; ) with no avail. I've been told that we need not have the hard drive in for the setting up of the motherboard, but we NEED the monitor. Can someone help me?
Someone has suggested it could be the processor (AMD Anthlon 64), but I'm hoping that it could be just something simple. The motherboard turns on (it has a very convenient light that proves this!) but we cannot do much. Also the keyboard lights up when the computer first turns on but turns right off after about 5 seconds.
Can someone please render some assistance? It would be very well appriciated.
