man people, get the X2 processor.

X2 processor plays about the same in gaming just like a single core processor, FOR NOW!

X2 processor does way better in multi taskijng then a single core processor

and you can always get a 7800GT and unlock the 4 additional pipelines and OC it to GTX speeds

HOLD UP.

THe San Diego 3700 is only $289 whereas the cheapest X2 I've found is $353. These are the cheapest of each name.

Comparing stats:

San Diego X2

Op. Freq: 2.2ghz 2ghz
L1 Cache 64KB+64KB 64KB+64KB
L2 Cache 1MB 2 X 512KB

OK. I'm fairly new to this, but I'm doing plenty of research. And I recognize PZEROFGH you have so more experience and knowledge. I've looked on the AMDwebsite and read it all and am leaning towards the double core, but I want to know if the extra dough will actually be worth it. I see you still have an AMD 64, whats up. Price? Performance? And is it probable that games in the future will buck up and use both cores which would give massive potential.

Ah. The format got kinda jacked.

San Diego 2.2ghz , L1 Cache 64KB+64KB , 1MB
X2............2 Ghz..................64KB+64KB , 2 X 512KB

the X2 is two processors in one physical processor. so basically its kind of like 2 san deigo cores in one physical processoros
