Hi, I am in the process of selling my laptop to get a desktop, I was planning to build my own but thats going to have to wait until my next upgrade.....I need it as I have far too much work on at Uni to be building my first PC. Whats the best alternative? is there anywhere on the net that I can have one custom built that you would reccomend....or is there any where I should get an off the shelf one? I know everyone on here says build your own, but that really is not an option, and I know everyone says never buy from places like PC world, but I bought my Sony Vaio from there and its been perfect, not a problem at all. I have about £800 - £900 budget for the whole package....and it needs tobe from the UK.

Thanks a lot if anyone can help.

ok i went to pc world and i found a really good pc for 800 (from us dount have euro money sign). it'a a compaq runs on Windows xp home edition, has a really good amd 3700+ cpu, GeForce6200 pretty good card and if you want to play games this cardw il run them, 1 gig ram really fast, huge 320 gig HD, and a nice 17' flat screen monitor. aslo little features 7 usb connectors, 9 in 1 media reader, and miccrosoft works suite 8.0. i would buy this pc if i wasnt building my own.

I've found two PCs that fit your price range and both have

Geforce 6600GT

However, one costs £888 and the other costs £799

The £888 system includes a 19 inch LCD and a 250GB Hard Drive:
