Default Help with a new build

Budget: $750 (I have OS and Monitor)
Use: Video editing and some gaming

Open to any suggestions, as I have been following this site for a while, and there are a lot more knowledgeable people on here than I.

These parts are $765 before $30 of mail in rebates. I went with the 1.5Tb hard drive because you mentioned video editing and it was pretty cheap with the combo deal. If you don't need that much space it may be possible to save some money by going with a smaller drive.

Is the video card necessary, can I get a board with onboard video, save some money and get a better processor? Also any thoughts on AMD? I was looking at the Biostar 790GX and the AMD Phenom II X4 940 Deneb 3.0GHz

While the 790GX has decent onboard video it isn't really suitable for gaming and has a small fraction of the performance of a good dedicated card like the HD 4870.

The Core i5 750 is faster the Phenom II x4 965 in almost every benchmark and easily beats the Phenom II 940 across the board.
