Help me figure out which is best.

Single Opteron 170 Dual Core

Dual Operton 248 CPU's

Dual 3.0 XEON CPU's (The older netburst 7xxx kind)


Which of those processor setups would be better in a dedicated gaming server? I want to run as many servers for my clan that I can, I have all of these processors but I want to pick the best setup and co-locate the box.

I'm assuming the Dual 248's are the best, but something tells me the single 170 might be right up there. Let me know what you think, I can't find good benchmarks but came across this forum while looking around.

If it were up to me, I'd get the dual Opteron 248's.

I wouldn't go with Xeon's unless they are Woodcrest Xeons...

Dual 248's - make sure they are 'Troy' cores.
