I recently purchased a new hard drive (Buy Seagate Expansion 2TB Desktop Hard Drive USB 3.0 | Read Reviews | Dick Smith Online Shopping) and it was not what i wanted. i wanted to get a portable hard drive. if i return it i can pay an extra $20 for a portable one. but now i think about it i don't see much reason to get a portable one. what do you think?

That technically is a portable HDD. It's up to you whether or not you need a drive to carry around.

Im a bit confused. That is a portable hard drive. Just out of curiosity, what other drive were you thinking about getting that is a portable drive and is 20 dollars more. Im willing to bet its just another portable hard drive but it says portable instead of expansion.

AH! i think we have a winner. I didn't look at the specs, just saw the slim profile and assumed it was usb powered.
