Not really, it just starts shutting itself down every two hours, starting next March. So technically it's still free, just very difficult to use :P It's perfect for use for another eight months.

In a nutshell. 32bit operating systems only recognize an amount of memory close to 3.5 odd gigs of ram. 64 bit operating systems can recognize much more than you are going to need anytime soon. Which is also why you want a 64 bit processor in this day and age.. same reason... in a nutshell

It's fairly difficult to buy a processor that isn't 64-bit :P
