Yea...Your power supply needs an upgrade if you are going to buy a new video card. The newer and mostly (better) video cards such as the EVGA 8/9800GT and the Radeon cards stated above need more power...especially if you are going to overclock.

AMD's cards are better currently, though. i wonder if that is why mr maroon has been absent? maybe just busy. in any event, good to see you again maroon.

Actually he did... don't you remember that he was asking here for a GPU to recommend because the HD 4870 did better in some game he wanted?

And he said "the HD 4870 dispenses from what I've heard..." and we said "Not true at all... in fact coming from the G80 GTS 320mb, it'll be less"

no i dont remember that, but thats even funnier than me switching to intel. not as funny as say, apok getting a q9550, but pretty god **** funny.

Can my PSU handle HD4870 ?

EDIT2: I do experience that smoke lag you also get in COD4, my FPS goes from like 40-75 to 1-18FPS
