I got my new mothboard today and started putting everything together. I got the cpu in without incident and then the manual said to attach the heatsink to the cpu.

The motherboard had no heatsink included and the heatsink on my old AMD motherboard won't be able to connect to the Intel mb I'll be using.

I'm looking to buy a heatsink so I can get back on my computer but I have no idea which heatsinks would work with my Intel motherboard and I couldn't find any help on the Intel site.

This is the first computer I've tried putting together and I want to be sure the components will work before truning it on.

My new motherboard is an Intel Pentium D 840 3.2GHz

You need a socket 775 heatsink to fit on top of your socket 775 processor situated in your socket 775 socket on your motherboard. :)

Your processor should have included a heatsink though...
