headset for laptop

I wanted to get a headset for my laptop. do you think this one is overkill.

If you need it just for listening? why the boom mike?

and it's a good brand so something from them would be good.

is it possible to get some sort of adaptor which will enable a headset meant for a laptop to be used with a phone?

I'm under the impression your budget it tight. What else besides your laptop are you going to use them for? MP3 player... running/workout? general travel? lots of on/off the head?

Also, what type of misic do you listen to? lots of bass? trebble, etc... that is something you want to look for in these things.

but those are pretty good from what I can tell... but please try and get another opinion with this... there are people out there that are much better than I with this... BTW... what is your budget for a headset?

no, my budget is not tight. i am ordering it through my office so as long as it is reasonable (aroudn 20 -30 pounds) i geuss it is ok. i have got a blackberry which does not have any headphones, and i think when i ask my office for a headset for my laptop and another one for my phone then they will get irritated.

that is why i wanted a headset which woudl be good for my laptop and for my phone.
