Hey
I am working on building my new computer, buying one piece at a time.
I need some recommendations on hard drives as I do not no the difference in between an ata 100, ata150, or sata3.0. The mother board is a MSI K8N Neo4-F. Isn't the DFI a better motherboard?
I really like the ASUS A8N-SLI Premium. Would this be a good mobo for gaming? One more thing I want 2 gigs of OCZ ram which kind would you recommend?
Thanks Guys

ok then, with hdd ata 100 means atapi interface 100mb/s same with ata 150, not familiar with sata 3.0. unless you are running raid, get ata not sata, cheaper & sata bandwidth isnt used, the only con to ata is the wider cable restricting airflow. Id get an ata 100

Any SLI mobo is a good mobo for gaming (SLI's only purpose is gaming) a popular opinion is dfi is better but ultimately its your choice & asus have been reliable for a LONG time.

for the OCZ RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...ce=&MaxPrice=&SubCategory=147&Submit=Property
pick your price of those

i hope this helps

Hey thanks for the help. On the ram though what exactly does the timing numbers mean? Hope I'm not asking to much.

SATA 3.0Gbits/s is SATA II i believe. Or at least i hope it is cause i just ordered a SATA 3.0gbs hard drive.

Serial ATA (SATA) is newer and faster basically. Your motherboard has to support it or you will have to buy a seperate controller.
Paralell ATA (ATA, PATA or EIDE (mostly referred to as IDE) is the most common hard disk type, until recently.
