Default Hard Drives - ata100 and ata 133 work together?

I had to replace my dead western digital 120 gig HD - picked up a maxtor 200 gig ata133.

I have in the closet a WD 40 gig drive, and expect to get a HD from western digital to replace the in-warranty dead 120 gig.

My question is since the maxtor is ata133, and my 40 gig Western digital is ata100, will I have any problems adding the 40 gig to my system? I figure I'd run it as a slave to the Maxtor master.

Simple question - don't know how much (if any) performance loss there would be between ata100 and ata 133.

They'll work fine. The drives can't hold speeds as fast as ATA100 so it doesn't really matter.
